We did a Versailles Bike Tour and this is the best way to see Versailles. The Palace itself is enormous along with 2000 + acres of green space. Biking allowed us to see the ponds, fountains and Marie Antoinette’s Peasantville (playhouse). The large green field was far away from the Palace and tour buses, provided a very serene setting for a picnic.
