  • Hiroshima & Miyajima Island

A trip to Hiroshima is best to start off with a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The museum showcase the remnants of buildings destroyed by the 1945 atomic bomb and monuments honouring the many perished by this nuclear attack. Understanding Hiroshima’s relatively recent devastation is key to fully appreciating its beauty and culture. […]

The major stations of each cities are often dressed with many great shops and restaurants. Never worry on going hungry while traveling via rail. Osaka […]
  • Kyoto

Kyoto was a delight to visit especially in the new year when the temples and shrines are in full swing. Many locals were in formalwear for the shrine visits and we were lucky capture a few photos. The culture is more traditional and presented with great finesse. The food is more towards Buddhist cuisine with […]
  • We ❤️ Tokyo

We ❤️  Tokyo and very safe to say our favourite to visit. This is what we tell others when asked about Tokyo. Frommers did a good job describing this megalopolis and all the reason why we love it too. Our first visit a few years ago was a sensory overload and now we feed from […]

Lisbon is a great city for seafood.  So close to the Atlantic.  Their sardinhas are awesome with many regional types of sardines.  The boutique provide great photos with all the colours. Pastel de Nata (Portuguese egg tarts) are like macarons to France.  There is one original shop Pastéis de Belém, they make very good Portuguese egg […]

August 28, 2014August 28, 2014 admin Leave a comment Journal, Travel

We usually try to join a walking tour the day after we land.  This gives us a brief history of the city and an idea of surrounding neighbourhoods to visit. We joined Sandemans New Europe walking tour for Lisbon.  It’s a free tour and just have to pay gratuity to the guide.   We also […]

Au Revoir Paris !

August 24, 2014August 28, 2014 admin Leave a comment Journal

We spent our last night in Paris renting a Velib bike.  It’s very easy to use and this is the form of transportation for most Parisians.  We biked along the Seine River to people watch.  The locals seem to also enjoy the Seine River as much as visitors.  They were still in full work clothes/suits […]

Where is the Love…

August 24, 2014August 24, 2014 admin Leave a comment Journal, Travel

Love is forever, love locks are NOT!  Be weary of a person that pronounces their love from Pont des Arts, the City of Paris takes them down average every 6 months.  The bridge railings are not designed to withstand the weight and eventually starts to breakdown.  And if you think love doesn’t cost a thing, a street vendor […]

Pierre Hermé

August 24, 2014August 24, 2014 admin Leave a comment Journal, Travel

Paris is all about the butter croissants, pastries, & macarons.  With so many choices, its overwhelming to know which one is the best.  We only go to one place when in Paris…..Pierre Hermé.  There’s other great shops that offer similar tastes.  But Pierre Hermé is known for his exotic, sophisticated flavours.  The texture of macaron is […]

Versailles Bike Tour

August 24, 2014August 24, 2014 admin Leave a comment Journal

We did a Versailles Bike Tour and this is the best way to see Versailles.  The Palace itself is enormous along with 2000 + acres of green space.  Biking allowed us to see the ponds, fountains and Marie Antoinette’s Peasantville (playhouse). The large green field was far away from the Palace and tour buses, provided […]
