Istanbul – Part 2

Continuing from our Part 1 post, this is the modern side of Istanbul which is a short walk or tram over from Sultanahmet across the Galata Bridge. We stayed for 5 of the 10 nights on this side.

Istikal street, over 1.5+ KM long of shops, restaurants, bars etc. Over 3million people walk through this street daily.

Turkish tea and fresh squeezed orange juice. Fresh squeezed juice are available all over town.

Classic Turkish breakfast and lamb/chicken kebabs. This restaurant is known for their organic Turkish breakfast served in traditional style with many small dishes.

Galata bridge, pedestrians can walk above or below. Fish restaurants line the walkway. Fishing on Galata bridge is a popular to do. Some for personal and some sell to fish markets nearby.

These boats line the pier before you cross the Galata bridge to the modern side. It serves fresh grilled Mackerel sandwiches.
