Arrived in Paris !! This journey officially starts here as the 1st week in Los Angeles was more with family and familiar faces. We are really feeling the jet lag this time across the Atlantic. Very sleepy with minimal appetite, comfort food was the top of mind. Noodle soups are often our go to. Ramen, Vietnamese Pho, wonton noodles etc. So glad to discover our apartment rental landed right in the middle of Little Tokyo Paris. We will definitely try the local japanese fare during our stay as it reminds us of home. The french pastries, brasseries are on our list to eat but with a long journey, comfort food is needed to start on the right foot.
Headed to the 13th Arrondissement today, which has one of the larger Chinatown in Europe. The area has a healthy Chinese/Vietnamese community. We thought it’s a great place to look for our Pho. Also came across a very good Banh Mi (Vietnamese sub). It’s made from fresh French bread. Definitely can taste the freshness in bread and the heavy layer of butter spread. Yum! Both are good and happy to say it’s close to our Vancouver standards.
